of The Grove
TQ 2764 NE 18/121
C19. Large wooden wheel with iron plates which is thought to have operated Charrington's

by order of Samuel Barrow, owner of The Grove from 1888, to an electricity generating
plant. Wheel protected by an open timber-framed structure with ashlar casing
at base and with tall steep hipped plain tile roof with gablets, cresting and
sun flower finials; stone blocks against south side. Smaller structure housing
electricity plant to the north.
