Circa 1900. Terraced houses. Two storeys and gable. Each house one narrow
entrance bay, one broad gabled bay. Pale gault bricks, now darkened. Red brick
bands. Richly moulded red brick door and window arches with stone springers and
keyblocks. Stone cills.
Ground floor square bay window with triplet of sashes and wing sashes. Mullions
have stone colonnettes, those at the angles being in triplets. Moulded red brick
arches spring from colonnettes to frame nailhead tympana. Bay has hipped slate
roof with gablet over middle sash.
Entrance has segmental head, those of Nos 196 to 202 differing slightly from rest.
Recessed panelled door, upper half glazed.
First floor double sash window has central mullion with colonnette, pointed-arch
head and nailhead tympana. Single-sash window over door has similar detail.
Slate roof with elaborate fretted wooden bargeboards to gable repeated on gablet
of ground floor bay. Stacks pale gault with red brick oversailing courses.
Brickwork of Nos 202 to 206, 212, 216, 218 and 222 now painted. Roofs of Nos 198,
210, 212 and 222 now tiled and red ridge tiles removed.
