LRT station. 1926 by Charles Holden.
Twin Portland stone corner buildings of similar external appearance
with two street entrances, projecting canopies and large tri-partite
windows with glazed roundel signs and tapering mullions with
spherical capitals. Stairs down to sub-surface ticket hall. Modern escalators.
Sub-surface platforms and passages retain much original tiling and
many original signs. One of several stations on the Northern Line
extension designed by Holden.
