Surviving section of terrace. Mid C19. Brick, stuccoed, channelled ground
floor. 4 storeys, attic and basement. 2 bays each except No 1(of 3 bays.) Nos 7
and 9 breakforward and probably formed an original central feature. Quoins to
breakforward. No 1 has a square projecting porch with attached Tuscan columns,
otherwise projecting Tuscan porches. Tripartite sashes. 1st floor balcony, in
part with stucco vase balusters. Round-arched 1st floor windows in keyed
surrounds with pilasters and consoles supporting pediment. 2nd floor
segment-arched sashes with cornices on consoles. 3rd floor segment-arched sashes
in keyed architraves. Upper windows of Nos 7 and 9 are in triple groups.
Modillion cornice. Attic sashes in keyed architraves. Panelled parapet with
some surviving urn finials. Iron basement railings. This terrace and Nos 2-18
opposite (qv) form the surviving sections of a monumental composition opening
onto Sussex Gardens (qv).
