5.2.70 No 15


Terrace house with shop. 1729. Brown brick with red brick dressings, slate
roof. 4 storeys. 3 windows wide. Altered early C19 shop front but retaining
panelled house door to right with flanking, fluted pilasters, entablature-
fascia. Upper floors have flush framed glazing bar sashes under segmental
arches. Brick band below attic storey and parapet with coping. Interior retains
passage hall with archway to dog leg staircase with closed strings, turned
balusters and column newels; panelled 1st floor rooms with box cornices, the
front room panelling fielded with, on the right hand of the chimney breast, a
Doric pilaster framed cupboard door; rear room has angle fireplace, plain
panelling with box cornices to 2nd floor etc.
