Terraced villa, c1824 by John Nash (built by W M Nurse) as part of his Regent's
Park Crown Estate development. Stucco; slate roof. 2 storeys raised on
basement. 2 windows wide. Square headed doorway approached by flight of steps
to centre; panelled door and loop patterned rectangular fanlight in architrave
with cornice over. Recessed tripartite glazing bar sashes with consoles to
sills on ground floor. Plat band over ground floor. 1st floor dressed with
plain vertical panels. Crowning cornice and blocking course. Cast iron area
railings with urn finials. Interior has Grecian plasterwork mouldings, marble
chimneypieces and geometrical staircase with Grecian cast iron balustrade; etc.
Upper Harley Street was originally known as Brunswick Place.
