No 1(The Two Chairmen
Public House)
Public house. c.1755-56 with mid C19 alterations. Brown brick, slate roof. 4
storeys and dormered mansard. 1 window wide front. Altered public house front
under entablature - fascia. Timber canted bay windows to first and second floors
with moulded frames to sash lights with late C19 glazing, cast iron ornamental
window guard to second floor and cornice surmounted by balustrade. 3 windows to
third floor, the outer ones narrow, with recessed sashes under flat gauged
arches. Parapet with coping.
