Terraced town houses, c1770-80 Portland Estate development, possibly by John
White. Stock brick with channelled stucco ground floors; slate roofs. 4 storeys
(No 45 with added dormered mansard) on basements. 3-window wide astylar fronts.
Semicircular arched doorways to left, No 45 with wood doorcase with panelled
reveals and fluted engaged Pompeian Doric columns, festooned frieze and mutuled
cornice; panelled doors and fanlights. Recessed sashes under flat gauged
arches to upper floors; No 45 with stucco architraves and cornices to 1st floor
windows. Plat band over ground floor with guilloche enrichment to No 44.
Parapets with copings. No 43 has mid C19 enriched cast iron 1st floor
balconettes; No 44 has wrought iron Gothick balconettes and No 45 has cast iron
anthemion patterned balcony. Cast iron area railings with plumbed spike or
flambé torch finials. Interiors not inspected.
