Terraced town house. c.1780, Cavendish-Harley Estate development. Stock
brick with channelled stucco ground floor; slate roof. 4 storeys and
dormered mansard, on basement. 3 windows wide. Semicircular arched
doorway to right with vermiculated (probably Coade) rustic dressings and
decorated keystone; panelled door and fanlight. Recessed sashes, under
flat gauged arches to upper floors with glazing bars intact to 2nd and
3rd floors. Stuccowork finished off with plat band. Parapet with stone
coping. Continuous cast iron bowed baluster patterned balcony to 1st
floor. Cast iron area railings with urn finials. Interior retains front
compartment staircases with slender turned balusters and some plasterwork
in Adam manner, doorcases, etc. G.L.C. plaque records residence of
Thomas Young.
