No 85
End of terrace town house. Mid to late C18, altered and heightened c.1860. Stock
brick with channelled stucco ground floor and dressings, slate roof. 4 storeys and
basement. 3 windows wide. Doorway to right with door of 4 fielded panels recessed
under cornice hood on heavy stucco consoles. Recessed sash windows in stucco
architraves to upper floors, with cornices to 1st and 2nd floors. Stucco sill
courses to each floor; band cornice to parapet, replacing Italianate cornice and
blocking course. Cast iron area railings of unusual design. Included only for group
value with adjoining Parliament Street q.v.
