Terraced houses. c.1810-20, Portman Estate development associated with
Gloucester Place. Stock brick with stuccoed ground floors, No. 40
channelled; concealed slate roofs. 4 storeys and basements. 2-window
wide fronts. Semicircular arched doorways to right; panelled doors with
reeded heads and jambs, Nos. 34 to 38 retaining patterned fanlights.
Recessed sashes, Nos. 32, 34 and 40 retaining glazing bars, under flat
gauged arches; No. 40 with stucco architraves to upper floors, the 1st
floor windows with cornices on consoles. Stuccowork finished off with
plat band at 1st floor level. Crowning stucco cornice and blocking
course. Continuous cast iron geometric patterned balconies to 1st floor.
Cast iron area railings with urn finials.
