Terraced houses. c.1810-20 Portman Estate development. Stock brick with
channelled stucco ground floors; concealed slate roofs. 4 storeys and
basements. 2-window wide fronts. Semicircular arched ground floor
windows and doorway to right; panelled doors in reeded jambs and moulded
heads, fanlights retaining radial patterning at Nos. 46 and 48. Recessed
sashes, the ground floor windows retaining glazing bars and radial glazing
to heads, except for No. 50, with channelling struck to arches; the upper
floor sashes, some retaining glazing bars, under flat gauged arches.
Stuccowork finished off with plat band at 1st floor level. Crowning
stucco cornice and blocking course, except for parapet with coping at
No. 42. continuous-cast iron geometric patterned balconies to 1st floor.
