Former Camel House. c 1830 - 31, by Decimus Burton for the Zoological Society,
rebuilt mid 1960s. Stock brick; tiled gable end roof. 1 storey. 3 bays with centre
bay between 2 pointed arched openings on east side. Overhanging eaves. Ridge
surmounted by timber framed and pilastered clock tower with copper cupola. Decimus
Burton landscaped the original gardens and designed the zoo buildings for the Society
between 1826 - 41, influenced by the Paris Jardin des Plantes.
