Formerly service quarters and coach house to No. 4 St. James's Square q.v.
c.1676 or more likely associated with the alterations to the house of
c.1725. Elevation to street rebuilt in stock brick, slate roof.
2 storeys. 4 windows wide. Elevation to garden court of No. 4 St. James's
Square red brick with painted stone dressings, slate roof. Low 3 storeys
and basement. 3 bays wide, the centre advanced and pedimented. Central
architraved doorway, with keystone rising into pulvinated frieze and
flanking strips capped by carved consoles carrying broken segmental
pediment, may possibly be reset from the original St. James's Square house,
Early C.19 lunette basement windows, otherwise recessed sashes under flat
gauged arches. Narrow band course above ground floor of centre break; deep
sill band to 1st floor, crowning modillion cornice with pediment over
centre break.
