Pair of end of terrace houses, No. 62 with original shop to flank.
c.1830 Portman Estate development. Gault brick with stuccoed ground
floor, concealed slate roofs. 4 storeys and basement. 2-window wide
fronts with 3-window return to Ivor Place. Square headed doorways to
right with panelled doors in pilastered jambs, entablature-heads beneath
arcaded pattern fanlights. Each has architraved glazing bar sash to
left. The shop front to return of No. 62 has a wooden, pilaster frame
with square headed panelled and glazed door and small pane shop window,
under entablature-fascia. To front the upper floors have recessed
glazing bar sashes in stucco architraves, with cornices over on 1st
floor. Plat bands over ground floor and 2nd floor; crowning stucco
cornice and blocking course. Cast iron geometric pattern balcony across
1st floor. Cast iron tasselled spearhead area railings.
