Terrace house 1770 s, remains virtually intact behind 1930s rendered "moderne"
facing. Four storeys, 3 windows wide, original openings respected in 30s above the
ground floor shop front. Interior has vestibule leading to top lit stairwell with open
arcade to top floor landing. Open string stone stairs with wrought iron lyre scroll
balustrade. Ground floor gallery premises have Roman Ionic column screen between
front and back, probably early C20 but may be original, and retains modillion cornice.
First floor drawing room separated from rear room by sliding panelled doors. Modillion
cornices. Original mahoganny doors and their furniture in architrave cases. Rear room
has carved wood chimneypiece with console terms, putti and Rococo frieze. Front room
has ornately carved Rococo architrave chimneypiece, possibly reset on a c.1900 essay;
all windows retain panelled shutters, etc.
