Terraced town house. c.1677, with later alterations, part of Barbon's
development of the York House estate. Stucco faced brick, concealed roof.
4 storeys (top floor early C.19 addition) and basement. 3 windows wide
with narrow blind widow to left on ground, 1st and 2nd floors. Doorway
to right with panelled door recessed in wood architrave with finely carved
console-brackets to cornice-hood. Nearly flush framed glazing bar sashes
with keyblocks to 1st and 2nd floor arches. Plat bands over ground, 1st
and 2nd floors, plain parapet coping to attic storey. Wrought iron area
railings with pommelled vase finials. Interior considerably altered but
retaining some elements of panelling and cornices; arched opening from
passage-hall to dog leg staircase, the top 2 flights retaining closed
moulded strings and very substantial, oak, spiral balusters, square newels
with turned pendants (similar to staircase in No. 12 q.v.), etc.
