Terraced house. 1770s with mid C19 alterations. Brown brick, slate roof. Three
storeys, basement, and mansard with dormers. Rusticated stucco to ground floor.
Bracketed stone cornice and blocking course. Three windows, C19 stucco architraves,
with dentilled alternating pediments and c.1800 cast iron balconettes on first floor.
Similar doorway to No 17. Good interior features; staircase rising full height and, top
lit with "chinese" wrought iron balustrade; mahogany doors and architrave doorcases.
First floor drawing room with fine statuary marble "console" chimneypiece and fine
Rococo stucco work to ceiling: central oval with putti, roundels with reliefs from
Lafontaine's Fables, and deeply modelled birds. A more restrained Rococo design to
ceiling of first floor rear room which also has an original marble chimneypiece etc.
