Stable block. Early 1820s and almost certainly adapted then by
Philip Wyatt in conjunction with work at the then associated No. 40
Upper Brook Street, possibly to accommodate a 1st floor ballroom.
Brick and stucco, slate roof. The front with early C20 garage to
Culross Street is of no interest but the north elevation is a compact
2 storey stuccoed neo-classical composition of 3 bays. The centre bay
on 1st floor is slightly advanced and contains a tripartite glazing
bar sash window set within a recessed segmental arch; the flanking
bays have recessed glazing bar sashes with blind rectangular panels
set above heads. Parapet with coping. Pyramidal slate roof
surmounted by small square timber cupola with clock. Listed for north
elevation and roof.
