Terraced town house-offices. 1682 origin as one of the houses in
Sir George Downing's new street; rebuilt or remodelled c.1723 and
probably refaced by Kenton Couse c.1766; virtually rebuilt and much
enlarged towards St. James Park by Raymond Erith 1960-63. Red brick,
slate roof. Neo-Georgian, sensitively continuing the style of Nos. 10
and 11. 3 storeys and dormered attic with lower ground floor to west and
north. 3 windows wide with 3 window extension, 6-window west return and
5 windows to north. Single storey one window entrance porch with cornice
and parapet to right. Recessed glazing bar sashes under flat gauged
arches. Stone cornices at 1st floor and eaves. Interior retains a now
subdivided room with 2-column screen.
