Terraced block of chambers and shops. c.1860 by F. Marrable. Stucco,
slate roof. Part of symmetrical Italianate composition balancing Nos. 9 to
13 and flanking the Garrick Club by the same architect. 4 storeys on
basement, and dormered mansard. Central doorway and altered shop windows in
pilastered ground floor with entablature flanked by console brackets.
Architraved casement windows to upper floors, those on 2nd floor set in
blind, pilastered, arcade with keys and putti in tympani. Deep console
bracketed crowning cornice over 3rd floor. Cast iron balcony over ground
floor entablature, cast iron balcony to 3rd floor and iron window guards to
2nd and 3rd floor windows.
