Terrace house. c.1730 with mid C.19 alterations. Brown brick, slate roof.
4 storeys (attic storey added). 3 windows wide. Ground floor has mid C.20
shop front. Upper floors have recessed casements (but sashes to attic) in
mid C.19 stucco architraves. Band course over 2nd floor, mid C.19 crowning
cornice and blocking course. Chesterton and Belloc met here for the first
time in 1900 when No. 16 was the Mont Blanc restaurant.
