Long terrace of houses. c.1815-20 Portman Estate development. Stock
brick with stucco ground floors; slate roofs. 4 storeys and basement.
Nos. 181, 183 and 191 to 207 (odd) with 2-window wide fronts; Nos. 185 to
189 (odd) 3 windows wide. Semicircular arched doorways to left; panelled
doors in pilastered columned or moulded jambs, cornice-heads, fanlights,
some patterned. Recessed sashes, most with glazing bars, Nos. 181 to 189
(odd) with semicircular arched ground floor windows, that of No. 195 with
intersecting Gothick glazing bars, under flat gauged arches to upper
floors. Parapets with stone copings. Cast iron geometric-anthemion
pattern balconies to 1st floors. Cast iron urn finialed area railings.
No. 181 has doorway in Ivor Place return. Part of one of the most
extensive sequences of Georgian terraced houses in London.
