Terraced town house. c.1773-74 Portland Estate development by John White
in partnership with the plasterer Thomas Collins (associates of Chambers).
Stock brick with channelled stucco ground floor; slate roof. 4 storeys,
basement and dormered mansard. 3 windows wide. Semicircular arched
doorway to left; panelled door, side lights and fanlight in Venetian
composition. Recessed sashes, under flat gauged arches to upper floors.
Stuccowork finished off with plat band at 1st floor level. Parapet with
stone coping. Cast iron anthemion pattern balcony across 1st floor. Cast iron
area railings. Fine interior with top lit geometrical stone staircase
with wrought iron balustrade; delicate plasterwork ceilings, friezes,
stucco mythological overmantel medallions; inlaid marble pilastered
fireplaces, mahogany doors; etc.
