Pair of terrace houses. c.1730-31 refronted 1873 by W.G. Bartleet for the
London and County Bank. Portland cement facing and dressings, slate roof.
Italianate details. 4 storeys and cellars. Each of 3 windows wide.
Channelled ground floor has square headed doorways, either end of paired
fronts, with cornices on consoles, flanking 4 segmental headed recessed
sash windows framed by rusticated pilasters and archivolt arches with keys.
1st floor segmental headed sashes in plain architraves rising from ground
floor entablature have pediments on enriched consoles (segmental pediments
to centre of each front), cornices on consoles to 2nd floor, similarly
architraved sashes and eared architrave sashes with keys to 3rd floor.
Sill bands and dentil crowning cornice flanked by consoles. Interiors
considerably altered in 1870s but No. 5 retains original doorcases,
enriched chimney pieces and cornices to 1st floor rooms.
