Office block. 1885-86 by Spencer Chadwick. Plain and moulded red brick,
slate roof. Mid C.17 Dutch Renaissance inspired details finely executed.
4 storeys, basement, attics and later dormers in mansard. 4 windows wide.
Ground floor has mid C.20 frontage and fascia. Recessed glazing bar sashes
in moulded brick architraves, with pediments on 1st floor, articulated
through 2 storeys by pilasters with stone bases and Ionic caps, edged with
rusticated brickwork, with main entablature over 2nd floor; short
rusticated pilasters to attic storey with secondary cornice below added
dormers.
