Ridgmont House Masonic Hall

House, now Masonic Hall. Early C19. Stucco with stone dressings and hipped stone slate roof. Two storeys, eight bays, three-bay centre breaks forward under pediment. Sill bands and top cornice. Windows have plain surrounds and are sashed with glazing bars and horns. Central first floor window in recess with consoles to top cornice; pediment above has round recess. Entrance has semi-circular porch with two Doric columns and two demi-columns six-panel door. Three cross-axial stacks. Right return of four bays is similar. Rear has three bay bow to left hand end and entrance with inscription above; four lines from The Task by William Cowper referring to greenhouse, possibly indicating former conservatory. Interior has stair with iron balusters and four six-panel doors. Built for Thomas Ridgway, one of the founders of Wallsuches Bleach Works.
