SD 61 SE (east side)

4/28 Marklands House

House. C17 with extension of 1746. Dressed stone with
quoins to 1st 2 bays, slate roof. 2 storeys, 3 bays, the
3rd bay forms extension, canted slightly forward. Ground
floor has 3-light single-chamfered-mullioned window to 1st
bay, 2nd bay has tripartite window with C20 small-paned
glazing, probably originally sashed; 3rd bay has C20 small-
paned casement. 1st floor has window to 1st bay as ground
floor; 2nd bay has window, originally sashed, with C20
casement; 3rd bay has 3-light C20 small-paned casement.
Entrance has lintel inscribed: "I M/1746". Cross-axial and
gable-end stacks. Rear facade has some blocked windows and
casement windows.
