SD 61 SE (east side)

4/29 Walsuches House
- II

House. Early C19. Stone with hipped slate roof. 2
storeys, 5 bays, the central bay breaks forward with bow.
Band over ground floor, 1st floor sill band and top cornice
and blocking course. Windows are sashed, no glazing bars,
some lower sashes adapted to casements. Central 1st floor
window is tripartite, with consoles to top cornice.
Tetrastyle Doric porch is bowed; entrance has overlight with
margin lights and paired glazed doors. Right return
similar. Left return to kitchen yard has lean-to extension.
Return lateral stacks. Interior only partly inspected.
Round entrance hall has niches, stair has decorative
balusters; said to have good plaster details. Built for one
of the Ridgway family who founded the Walsuches Bleach
