Clammerclough Railway Tunnel

Tunnel, approximately 280 metres long. 1838 and 1880s. For Manchester and Bolton Railway. Engineer J. Hawkshaw. Brick and stone. Tunnel to north semi-circular, brick lined, with large stone voissoirs. Tunnel to south, horseshoe-arched, lining of several courses of brick. Roll-moulded surround; rubble abutments. Rock-faced band and parapet. Brick abutments to west.
