16.6.81 Broad Oak Farmhouse

- II

In 3 sections, the left-hand one probably C18, the other 2 probably earlier C17;
the outer sections set forward. Coursed rubble. 2 storeys. One 2-light stone-mul-
lioned window in each section, but the middle upstairs one a large 4-light trans-
mullioned probably C19 wooden casement and the other originally 4-light, extra mul-
lions having been removed for the insertion of sashes. (The ground floor right-hand
one having been 5-light originally, retains the 2 central mullions). The ground
floor windows of middle and right-hand sections have drip-moulds and their mouldings
generally (though very weathered) are consistent with the date FEB 2/1637 (the 3
being conjectural) incised on the right-hand section. Doorways to right of central
and left-hand sections and in gable end of right hand section. Small brick gable
chimney to each section. Slate roofs.
