24.7.73 Nuttall Hall Cottages
1817. Originally the stables and coach-house of the demolished Nuttall Hall. Stone.
2 storeys. 6 sash windows, the end ones in low, recessed sections, the mid 2 sur-
mounted by pediment (enclosing carved cartouche by Thomas Vicar) and with roundel
between them. Later central rectangular bay with 3 windows and doorway on ground
floor, closing former arched entry. Arched doorway with quoining on each side of
bay (providing entrance to Nos 3 and 7). Doors to Nos 1 and 9 at ends of range have
stone surrounds and pediments (that of No 9 destroyed). Moulded and arched panels
to doors of Nos 1, 3 and 7. First floor sill band. Eaves gutter cornice.
