House, now old people's home. Mid C19. Coursed squared stone with ashlar dressings,
hipped slate roof, ridge stack. 2 storeys, 3 bays. Prominent dentillated eaves
cornice. Entrance front has band between storeys,and a tetrastyle Tuscan portico.
First floor windows, the central one tripartite, have moulded architraves.
Ground floor windows similar, with bracketed hoods. One bay ground floor addition
to left, with similar detail. 3-bay left return has projecting pedimented centre-
piece incorporating Venetian stair-window filled with fine painted glass. 3-
storey service wing to right. Interior richly detailed with moulded plaster-
work and doorcases, the central hall also with a voluptuous chimney piece, panelling
and an Elizabethan style screen at the foot of the staircase. Previously known
as Bent Hill.
