Hall's Buildings
II
House, now storage rooms. C17. Timber-framed structure on
stone plinth with brick repairs and additions and felt roof.
Rectangular 2-room, 2-storey plan with lean-to addition to
rear. 3 structural bays with square panelling some with
original wattle and daub infill. 3 panels high with curved
diagonal braces to the principal posts. Right gable rebuilt
and rear concealed by addition. Back-to-back fire places,
timber-framed internal crosswall and original tie-beam roof
trusses. Illustrated in F. R. Johnston, Eccles, the
growth of a Lancashire town, 1967.
