Hotel, now shop premises. c.1820. Dressed stone (watershot
at rear) with graduated stone slate roof. Double-depth 3-bay
plan with 3 storeys (plus basement) and a fourth bay to
right of a later date and with a coach arch. Raised quoins
and eaves cornice. Central door (now blocked) has fanlight,
archivolt and pediment. The door is repeated in a small
additional bay to left. Later shop windows inserted to
either side and a segmental carriage arch (bay 4) on
rusticated square columns with pedestrian ways to either
side. Each upper floor has 3 triple sash windows (without
glazing bars) and a single sash window above the door, all
have square-cut surrounds and separating mullions. Ridge and
gable chimney stacks. Taking-in doors to rear and similar
windows.
