Wickens Farmhouse and adjoining barn

Farmhouse and barn. "T1747K" (Kenworthy) on small tablet
above door but with later alterations and additions. Hammer-
dressed watershot stone and graduated stone slate roof. L-
shaped plan with 3 rooms on each floor and barn attached to
west side. Door within angle has dressed surround. Wing to
left of door has 3-light cavetto-moulded ground floor window
(mullions removed) and 3-light recessed flat-faced first
floor mullion window. The wing to right was increased in
height and part rebuilt in later C18. In all the wing has
quoins, 2, 3, 5 and 8-light windows, some blocked, some with
mullions removed and are generally of recessed flat-faced
type. The rear range has a 3-light double-chamfered cavetto-
moulded mullion window and 2 and 3-light recessed flat-faced
mullion windows. Blocked taking-in door. Gable chimney
stacks. Barn has quoins and opposed entries with dressed
surrounds and stone lintels.
