House and cottage, now one house. "IRM 1699" on datestone
but with alterations of later dates. Hammer-dressed stone
with graduated stone slate roof. 2-unit plan with gable
entrance, cottage added to left, 2-storey wing added to rear
and C20 porch. Projecting plinth and quoins. 2, 4 and 3-
light double-chamfered cavetto-moulded stone mullion windows
on ground floor (with later window inserted beteween the 2
and 4-light windows). 6-light recessed flat-faced stone
mullion window to first floor and a 2-light double-chamfered
window. Eaves raised. The former cottage to left has a
square-cut door surround; 3-light ground floor and 4-light
first floor windows and quoins. 2 ridge chimney stacks both
rebuilt in brick. Lean-to porch obscures gable entrance.
Rear wing is of a later date and has 2, 3 and 4-light
windows. Bulletin of the Saddleworth Historical Society,
