Includes Platt Lane, (north-east side) No.2. Three houses.
"ISH 1780" (John and Hannah Smith) on rainwater head with
additions of slightly later dates. Hammer-dressed watershot
stone with graduated stone slate roof. Double-range plan
with 3 storeys and 4 bays (bay 1 being an addition). Stone
quoins and modillion eaves cornice. The original house has a
central square-cut door surround flanked by 4-light double-
chamferedstone mullion windows on each floor (rendered on
ground and first) and with central 2-light windows on first
and second. Bay 1 has a square-cut door surround and a C19
window inserted on the ground floor. The first and second
floors have 4-light windows as above. 3 ridge chimney
stacks. The rear (No. 8) has a central door and similar 4
and 2-light windows on each of 2 floors.
