SD 91 SW CROMPTON CROMPTON FOLD
1/18 Nos. 1, 2, 3
- and 8 Pingot
- II
4 houses. Late C18. Hammer-dressed watershot stone with
asphalted graduated stone slate roof which has been replaced
by C20 tile in No. 1. Total of 4 bays and 2 storeys. Nos. 1
and 2 predate the others and were formerly one house with a
central door with architrave and flat hood (now to No.2).
The door to No.1 was inserted later. Nos. 3 and 8, which
were once back-to-back cottages, have square-cut door
surrounds. Total of 4 windows on each floor, two with 4-
lights, the rest with 3 and all with recessed flat-faced
stone mullions. Eaves cornice. 3 ridge chimney stacks. Small
C20 additions to left and rear. Left gable has taking-in
door to first floor level. Similar fenestration to rear.
