House. C17 but incorporating an earlier cruck truss probably
of C16 date. Timber frame on stone plinth with squared
rubble crosswing and slate roof. 2 units (3 bays) of a
former 3-unit cross-passage plan with 2 storeys. A bay to
the left was demolished in 1890s. Square-panel timber
framing to left wing with porch to right and total of 5 C20
casement windows. Gabled stone crosswing to right has a 3-
light double-chamfered stone mullion window with hoodmould
on each floor. Ridge chimney stack. Right return has similar
2, 3 and 4-light windows, the former a fire window. The rear
is entirely obscured by C20 extensions and a dormer window.
Interior: cruck truss to left of cross-passage has 2 collars
which are visible at first floor level. Backing onto it is
an inglenook fireplace with heck post and segmental arched
bressummer beam. The stone wing also has an inglenook
fireplace, the heck post having a carved bracket where it
meets the bressummer beam. Chamfered floor beams with run-
out stops. Timber-framed internal walls with wattle and daub
panels. Tie-beam roof truss in stone wing. W. M. Bowman
