3/5 Newton Wood War Memorial
II

War memorial. c.1920. Sculptor J.J. Hirst of Denton for
the Newton Wood Committee. Ashlar. Aedicular memorial
stands on a stepped plinth and has pediments with carved
tympana on all 4 sides. Engaged corner antae flank the
rolls of honour and the whole is topped by a carved crown.
