LONGDENDALE HOBSON MOOR ROAD
SK 09 NW
(south-east side)
5/55 Outbuildings at
Hollingworth
20.3.75 Hall Farm

- II

Range of farm buildings incorporating a disused farmhouse,
barns and shippons. Largely C18 but including a C17 (or
earlier) cruck-framed structure and alterations of early
C19. Squared rubble with graduated stone slate roof. L-
shaped range. The north range has shippon, barn with
opposed cart entries and outshut to rear. The south range
also has opposed cart entries, a shippon and was partly
converted to a farmhouse in early C19. The north wing has
C19 shippon door and window openings to the left of the barn
door and vents to the right. Half-hipped roof. The south
wing has a cart entry with timber lintel; the farmhouse to
its left has a door with square-cut surround and three 2-
light flat-faced stone mullion windows. Vents to right.
Similar details at rear with a winnowing door. One ridge
chimney stack. The cruck-frames in the north range are
largely concealed by a later ceiling.
