House, formerly toll bar cottage. Early C19. Dressed stone
with slate roof and brick stack. Small 1-storey house with
canted end and lean-to to right. Door with arched square-
cut stone surround and overlight is flanked on the canted
sides by similarly dressed and arched window openings with
C20 casements. Hipped roof. C19 photograph in A. Holt,
Story of Mossley, 1926, shows original interlaced glazing
