11.2.85 Woodfield Farm
Barn. C17 cruck frame with walls and roof of C18 and C19.
Squared rubble with slate roof. 4-bay single-aisled barn
with lean-to addition to east. Central door to the gable
which has stone quoins and a loft hatch. The sides are
largely obscured by the lean-to and aisle. Bay 4 is
the sidewalls and roof having been removed. 3
closed cruck trusses are relatively complete, have collar
yokes and support the original purlins. Unused windbrace
notches and other structural anomalies suggest a possible
restructuring. The existance of the aisle is particularly
worthy of note.
