Monument. 1861-70. Eden Nesfield, with carvings by Forsyth. Stone base of 3 steps (square) on stone pavement, surrounded by iron railings. High moulded plinth, circular stone column and 4 marble columns at angles, with Gothic carved capitals and reliefs of 4 evangelists. Large seated Christ at top, in a square aedicules of 3 open cusped sides and a rear carved panel of the Hand of God, Adam and Eve, and the Crucifixion. A handsome and elaborate exercise in "Early French" Gothic.
