- Holy Trinity


Church. 1847. J. Hay. Stone with slate roof. Nave, transepts
and short chancel, ritual west tower. Low tower with angle
buttresses with pinnacles and gables to 4 sides. West
entrance with continuous mouldings and hoodmould, 3-light
window with curvilinear tracery, 3-face clock. Spire has 8
gabled bell openings and raised bands. 5-bay nave with
weathered buttresses and parapet and 2-light windows.
Transepts have 3-light windows over porches. Canted chancel
has 2-light windows. Interior has arch-braced roof with
pendant finials. Nave has west gallery with arcaded
panelling. Chancel has gabled niches continued round under
windows with central alabaster panel of Last Supper. In
transept to left of chancel arch is small pulpit with
nodding ogee canopy and arched organ recess, to right are 3
cusped arched commandment panels. Some C19 stained glass in
the nave.
