Includes No 42 Catharine St. 3 houses. 1820s. Brick with
stone dressings, hipped slate roof. 3 storeys with basement
3 bays to each house. No 42 Catharine St is of 4 bays with
2-bay return to Canning St. Basement lintel band, 1st floor
sill band and top cornice and blocking course. Windows have
wedge lintels and are sashed with glazing bars above ground
floor; one blind window to 2nd floor of No 43. Entrances
have Ionic aedicule (no pediments). Iron railings to areas
and steps have decorative heads. No 41 has 1st floor iron
balcony. No 42 Catharine St. has 1st floor iron balconies;
window above entrance has architrave, frieze and consoled
cornice, 4-paned door with battered upper panels.
