2 houses, one now synagogue. Mid C18. Brick with stone and
stucco dressings, slate roof. 2 storeys, 9 bays to synagogue
2 bays at each end recessed and lower; 3 bays to No 28.
Stone base and top frieze and cornice. Windows have
rusticated wedge lintels and are sashed with glazing bars,
those to 1st floor of synagogue are thicker, probably
earlier. Central entrance to synagogue has architrave,
complete overlight and 6-panel door, in aedicule with paired
panelled pilasters with consoles and pulvinated frieze.
Entrance to 1st bay of No.28 has enclosed porch with
rusticated lintel. Interior not inspected.
