Laundry and Cottage. 1864-5. E. Nesfield. Red brick,
slate roof with tile cresting and large brick chimneys,
clustered and ornamented. One storey with 2-storey end bay,
6 x 2 bays. 1st 2 bays recessed and lower; next 3 bays have
gabled centre bay with incised plaster decoration to
timbered upper part. Windows have small-paned casements.
find bay has gable. 4-light and cross windows with small-
paned casements with leaded upper panes. Pointed arched
entrance has stone surround and recessed door with elaborate
hinges. Right return has rectangular bay window to 1st bay,
with deep incised coving and irregular fenestration. Rear
wing has louvre. An early example of the Domestic Revival
style.
