Office building. 1839. Samuel Rowland, for the Royal Bank. Stone. 3 storeys, 9 bays, 1st, 3rd to 7th, and 9th break forward. Ground floor rusticated with C20 shop fronts. Entrances to Sweeting Street and Queen Avenue with iron tympana, that to left contemporary, lettering reads "SWEETING STREET"; that to right, 1880s with lettering reading "QUEEN INSURANCE BUILDINGS". 1st, 2nd, 8th and 9th bays have tripartite windows with pilasters and entablatures to 1st and 2nd floors. Attached giant Corinthian portico to central 5 bays, with wreathed frieze. Outer bays have similar pilasters. Top balustraded parapet, and royal arms in centre.
